The problem

The directory says one thing, the work says another

A job title says what someone was hired to do, a skills profile says what they typed during onboarding.

Both self-reported, both stale by the next reorg.

Cost
20%

of the working week goes to searching for information or the right colleague (McKinsey).

Risk
42%

of role-specific expertise is known only by the person currently doing the job (Panopto).

How Pravodha helps

Expertise earned from real answers

  • Every saved entry carries the name of the person who answered.
  • Colleagues like and bookmark what helped.
  • Each like builds an expertise badge on the author's profile, for the topic on that entry.
  • Badges run from grey at 1 to 4 likes up to gold at 20 or more.
  • Grey: 1 to 4 likes
  • Blue: 5 to 9 likes
  • Green: 10 to 19 likes
  • Gold: 20 or more likes

No skills form to fill in, because the Expertise section populates itself from the likes colleagues give.

Who it helps

Who feels the difference

The manager.

The record of who knows what builds itself from real answers.

The quiet expert.

Credit for what they know, without updating a profile.

FAQ

Questions about expertise mapping

Where does expertise come from?

From saved answers. A profile shows the topics where colleagues have liked what the person contributed, with a badge for each.

Do people have to fill in a skills profile?

No. The Expertise section fills in automatically from the likes colleagues give.

What do the badge colors mean?

The color shows how many likes a person has earned on a topic. Grey is 1 to 4 likes, blue 5 to 9, green 10 to 19, and gold 20 or more.

Who can see a saved entry?

Each entry is associated with a department and is visible to the people subscribed to that department. People can subscribe to as many departments as they choose.
