1. Getting Started
Q: How do I create an account?
A: Creating an account on Pravodha is simple! Click on the Sign Up/Login button at the top-right of the homepage, then click on the Sign up button, and follow these steps:
- Enter your username, email address, and password
- Fill in your name, job title, and location
- Select topics you are interested in.
- Complete your profile or do it later.
- Verify your email by clicking the link we send to your inbox.
Once your account is verified, you can start interacting in the communities and connecting with others!
Q: I forgot my password. How can I reset it?
A: No worries! You can reset your password by following these steps
- Click on the Forgot Password link on the login page.
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
- We’ll send you an email with a link to reset your password. Follow the instructions, and you’ll be back in no time!
Q: How do I update my profile information?
A: To update your profile:
- Log in to your account and click on “My Profile” in the top-right corner.
- Click on the pencil icon to edit individual sections of your profile.
- You can update your name, job title, location, profile photo, and more. Don't forget to save your changes!
2. Using Pravodha
Q: What is the “Expertise” section on my profile?
A: The expertise section on your profile is automatically populated. It displays the list of topics where the user’s contributions have been recognized by other community members.
When other community members like a discussion or comment you post, the skill associated with the topic appears in the “Expertise” section. The color of the tick mark next to the skill shows the level of expertise:
- 1-4 likes: Grey
- 5-9 likes: Blue
- 10-19 likes: Green
- 20+ likes: Gold
Q: What is “Repo”?
A: Repo is your reputation on Pravodha. Certain activities on Pravodha require you to spend Repo points, while other activities can earn you Repo points.

The following activities cost Repo points:
- Creating a new community (10 points)
- Liking a discussion or comment (1 point)
- Bookmarking a discussion (1 point)

You earn Repo points in the following ways:
- On signup (15 points)
- When other users bookmark your discussion (1 point)
- When other users like your discussion or comment (1 point)
Repo points are a way to give value to your interactions. When users have to earn points before spending them, they are more likely to value how they spend those points.
3. Communities and Discussions
Q: How do I join a Community?
A: To join a community:
- Click on Explore on the left-hand side menu.
- Under the “Communities” tab, you will see the list of communities.
- Click on a Community to see its statistics.
- Click on the “Explore” button to see the discussions within that community.
- Click on the “Join community” button to join.
Q: Can I create my own Community?
A: Yes! To create your own community:
- Click “Create New” on the left-hand side menu.
- Select Category and Subcategory for your community from the respective dropdown menus.
- Write the name and description of your community.
- Click the “Create Community” button to finish creating.
- Note: Creating a new community uses up 10 Repo points.
Q: How can I start a Discussion?
A: To start a discussion, you must first be part of the community. After joining the community, you will see

- Click on “Add Post”

- Click the discussion you want to join.
- Type your comment in the comment box.
- Click on “Comment”.
4. Content Guidelines and Reporting Issues
Q: What content is allowed on the platform?
A: Pravodha is a professional social media platform, so we expect all content to be relevant to the professional community. Posts that contain offensive language, harassment, spam, or illegal activity will be removed. For more details, refer to our [Content Guidelines].
